"The Rubric Duo" saw its birth on the sunny beaches of the Victorian coast in early 2015. Inspired through mutual interest of New York jazz and classic 70s funk, Byron & Jake began to venture into writing original music, experimenting with new genres and flavours.
This album is the product of the tight, rhythmic groove they were able to discover, through inspirations of Herbie Hancock, Larry Goldings, Tim Minchin, Jojo Mayer, Virgil Donati, McCoy Tyner and Mike Mangini.
